Gelatin is usually coated on the surface of the tablet after granulation with a wet powder, while hydrolyzed gelatin can be applied directly to the tablet.When applied to wet particles, medicinal gelatin should be prepared in a hot water solution with a concentration of 5 to 10% to avoid gelation.Standard gelatin has a higher adhesive strength than hydrolyzed gelatin, and more importantly, it has a stronger adhesive.As a result, the harder and more cohesive the coating or tablet is, and the longer of disintegration time.
